This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.

Bridget is a sweet little girl who was rescued from a kill shelter as a kitten.  When we got her, she was stumbling around and unable to walk. We had her hospitalized and they found out that thankfully it was only an ear infection that was throwing off her balance. Once she was treated and recovered from the infection, she could run around and play the same as any other kitten!  However, she does still hold her head at a slight tilt which makes it look like she is always listening intently to what you are saying. The vet said this is of no concern and that she is perfectly healthy and ready to be adopted!  She has a great personality! She likes to be picked up under her arms and held against your chest.  She gives great head bumps, and she will coming running with her little eyes all bright if you call "Briggie Briggie!" If you want her to fall madly in love with you, all you need to do is brush her!
She is currently being fostered in a loving home in NC while she awaits transport to DPR, which is scheduled for Jan. 21st.

Bridget is spayed, has tested negative for FeLv/FIV, is up to date on all vaccinations and litter box trained. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a "Cat Adoption Application"   at   www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org/forms
      Adoption fee is: $150

DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:

Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
