This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.

Shaylynn and her siblings (Carly, Sabrina and Rayne) were surrendered by their previous owners because they were living outside and one of them jumped on the car. After a domestic dispute, the cats were unceremoniously dumped at a high kill shelter.  DPR is so happy that we were able to rescue them because they all have absolutely amazing personalities. They are now very happy being indoor-only cats and sleeping on their foster mom's bed every night. Shaylynn is extremely affectionate and loving. She loves to cuddle and be picked up. She has a beautiful long fluffy coat that will require some brushing to keep it from getting matted.  She gets nervous on car rides, and unfortunately rubbed all the hair off her nose on the door of the crate when she was on her way to get spayed! It is growing back now though and we have learned that she can only travel in a secure soft-sided carrier!

Shaylynn is spayed, has tested negative for FeLv/FIV, is up to date on all vaccinations and litter box trained. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a "Cat Adoption Application"   at   www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org/forms
      Adoption fee is: $150

DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:

Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
