This website is updated daily. If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.
Dusty and his siblings (Missy and Cody) are adorable 10 week old kittens who were born in foster care. DPR rescued their mom, Amara (who is also available for adoption!) from a high kill shelter while she was pregnant. She settled into her foster home and gave birth to her 3 beautiful little kittens. She was a wonderful mom to them (and also surrogate mom to a couple other orphaned kittens). Dusty and his siblings were raised in a very loving foster home their entire lives where they were held and cuddled with daily since birth, so they are very well socialized and friendly! They love to play with their toys and wrestle with each other. They are guaranteed to keep you entertained!
Dusty has the sweetest little personality. He will run to the door to greet you, and he will climb right up onto your lap and stay there as long as you let him! He's a definite lap cat and loves to snuggle. When he isn't cuddling, you can find him playing with his toys and with the other kitties. He gets along great with cats, dogs and even toddlers!
Dusty has tested negative for FeLv/FIV, is up to date on all vaccinations and litter box trained. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a "Cat Adoption Application" at www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org/forms
Adoption fee is: $150 plus $40 refundable spay/neuter deposit
DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:
Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
