Adorable little Roman was as close as you can get to being euthanized in a shelter. Roman was terrified to be at the shelter, and he climbed up to the very top of the cage, up near the ceiling and was refusing to come down. A DPR volunteer was there while they were getting him down with a a catch-pole, they said he was completely feral and they were taking him to be euthanized right then. Our volunteer somehow saw his potential and said she would take him and work with him. She brought him home, and it only took him 2 days before Roman felt comfortable with being pet, held and played with. We are so thankful that our volunteer took a chance on him! These days he enjoys cuddling on your lap, being pet, and playing with ping pong balls. He will roll over on his back to get you to tickle his belly. He is friendly with new people, runs to the door to greet you, and even gets along well with children. He loves the other cats and kittens he is being fostered with too. He is excited to find a home of his own!

Roman has tested negative or FeLv/FIV, is up to date on all vaccinations and litter box trained. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a "Cat Adoption Application"   at   www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org/forms
Adoption fee is: $150 plus $40 refundable spay/neuter deposit

DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:

Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
