Lucas is an absolute sweetheart. He is mellow and affectionate, and a bit of a couch potato! He loves to lounge on his bed or on the windowsill. He loves being pet and cuddled! He has his moments of playfulness, especially with a laser pointer (check out his cute video below!) He gets along really well with all of the other cats and kittens he is being fostered with. And he is very gentle and patient with young children as well. He seems to be able to tell time because he always knows when time for breakfast and dinner! We just love Lucas, and we know you will too!

This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.

DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption: 

Initial vet visit 
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers 
Monthly flea/tick preventative 
Ear mite preventative 
The above is standard for cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
