This website is updated daily. If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.
Meet The Mouse King! This bedraggled little kitten was rescued from a high kill shelter in NC. We seriously do not know what is going on with his wild and crazy hair - we've given him a bath, we've brushed him, but his hair just does its own thing and sticks out all over the place (some of us can relate!) This little guy is hardly two pounds but he certainly thinks he is the king and enjoys bossing around the other big cats! He is a major attention hog and will hop right onto your lap and then gently poke your face or head butt you if you are not paying enough attention to him. He is wonderful with the kids and seem to actually enjoy being carried around by them wrapped up in a little baby blanket. He has A LOT of personality stuffed into that tiny little body of his!
He tested negative for FeLv/FIV/HW, is up to date on all vaccinations and litter box trained. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a "Cat Adoption Application" at www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org/forms
Adoption fee is: $100, plus refundable spay/neuter deposit of $40.
DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:
Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
