This website is updated daily. If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.
"Lap cat" would be an understatement for this guy. Andy wants nothing more than to just be on his human cuddling at all times. He has the personality of a Ragdoll - he just flops around when you pick him up and you can put him in any position. He loves belly rubs, and he gets along really well with cats, dogs and children. He even enjoys the rambunctious toddlers in his foster home. He'd make an perfect therapy cat with his mellow and loving demeanor. He is a big cat with A LOT of hair, so his adopters are going to need to be willing to brush him very regularly and/or take him to a professional groomer often. His hair mats very easily, and he arrived covered in very tight painful mats that needed to be shaved off. He is very agreeable though and loves to be brushed. We really can't say enough great things about this ultra-fluffy guy's amazing personality!
He is neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FeLv/FIV/HW, is up to date on all vaccinations and litter box trained. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a "Cat Adoption Application" at www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org/forms
Adoption fee is: $150
DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:
Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
