Learn more about the Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie.
Lucy is a rescue from an Ohio puppy mill. When she arrived at her foster parent's home, it was noticed that she had a slight limp. Lucy can run like the wind and is in no pain. The veterinarian that examined her found that she has a snapped Achilles tendon in her right back leg that most likely happened when she was real young. Mill dogs spend their lives in wire bottom cages. Lucy being so tiny probably fell in between the wires which damaged the tendon. Lucy was taken to the Veterinary Specialist of Delaware to get further determination on her outcome. It was advised that nothing be done to correct the leg. She can live a normal life as long as she does not spend long periods of time walking on concrete (or rough surfaces). She is fine to run and play just like any other puppy. Lucy is such a sweet, lovable little girl who would be a great companion and loves to cuddle. Being so tiny, she would not be the right pet for children; the ideal home being with an adult(s) who have plenty of time to love and spoil her. If you are interested in meeting Lucy, please put in an application. More about LucyGood with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
