Gracie wants to be your one and only! This gorgeous girl found herself in a kill shelter in North Carolina when her owner who raised her from a bottle got ill from cancer and was no longer able to care for her. She was very loved in her previous home, and poor Gracie seems so lost and sad to find herself homeless. Gracie has gorgeous blue-green eyes and a sweet meow. She is a definite lap cat and loves to be pet and brushed. She is declawed on all 4 paws. She has not had any issues using the litter box. She lived as an only pet in her previous house, and she is utterly terrified of other cats and dogs, so for that reason she would be happiest being an only pet in a quiet home. She is about 5 years old and has long beautiful fluffy hair and a cute squishy face. She will need a patient and understanding adopter who will give her the time she needs to get adjusted to a new loving home.
She is spayed, microchipped, tested negative for FeLv/FIV/HW, is up to date on all vaccinations and litter box trained. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a "Cat Adoption Application" at www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms
Adoption fee is: $150

This website is updated daily. If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.
*Please note - due to COVID-19, we will not be able to do on-site meet and greets. Adoptive families can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. All paperwork can be done online and adoption fees can be paid by Paypal. You can pick your kitty up "curb side". Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *
DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:
Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
