Meet Teddy, our shy little guy from West Virginia. Teddy is approximately 3 months old and loves to be cuddled. He is coming to Delaware on 1-8-06. Special Needs: Here is some more information about Teddy, as we have found since transporting him up from West Virginia on Sunday that he has some special needs. Teddy is about 9-10 weeks old and definitely a terrier mix, although I am not familiar enough with Dachsunds to tell if he is a Dachsund/Terrier mix. He came from an abusive home so already in his short life he is afraid of people. He was very underweight when he arrived, but is gaining weight nicely and has filled out some. He is very good with other dogs and not aggressive. He is a happy little guy – with his tail always wagging. However, he is very afraid to approach people. We have him to the point now that if we are still, he will sniff and lick our fingers. If we catch him to hold him, he seems to like being petted, and has even given a kiss or two. He definitely wants to interact with us, but is just scared from past experience. We do feel that he will come around, although it may take weeks or months of love.
