Meet Santiago, Lorenzo, Antonio and Fabio! These adorable Abyssinian guinea pigs were left in a cardboard box at the doorstep of Delaware Humane Association. We were contacted and asked if we could take them, and we were happy to help! These guinea pigs are all boys and get along great with each other. They saw our vet and got a clean bill of health as well. They are so unique because they have long hair and cowlicks of hair called "rosettes". They are very soft! We keep them in an exercise pen which has plenty of room for them to run around and play. They are getting to know us and our routine, and they will squeak in excitement when they see us because they know it usually means they are going to get fresh fruits and veggies, which they go crazy for! Their favorites are lettuce, peppers, carrots and cucumbers. They will eat it right from your hand. We have a variety of cute little hidey houses for them, which they love! They also love climbing into their hay feeder and will occasionally chew on their variety of toys. They are used to being around children, and they enjoy being petted on their cheeks and under their chins. They'll make great pets! Guinea pigs love having a friend, so consider adopting a pair!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a "Guinea Pig Application"   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms
Adoption fee is: $25 for a single guinea pig, $30 for a pair of guinea pigs

This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.

*Please note - due to COVID-19, we will not be able to do on-site meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the guinea pig's foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the guinea pig. You can pick your guinea pig up "curb side". Guinea pigs can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *

DPR guinea pigs receive a vet check up prior to adoption!

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
