Meet Daffodil! She is an adorable Abyssinian guinea pigs who is about 3 months old and was surrendered to us along with her mom and brother when her family could no longer care for them. When she arrived to DPR she was pregnant and had a single baby a couple days after arriving! Clover is her baby, she was a very good mom to him, and now that he's about 3-4 weeks old, they are ready to be separated. Daffodil's mom is Snowdrop and they are very bonded, so we are hoping to find them a home where they can be adopted together. Guinea pigs are very social animals and are happiest when they have a friend!

Daffodil and Snowdrop are unique girls because they have cowlicks of hair called "rosettes". They are both very sweet and friendly and enjoy being held. Since Daffodil is still a baby herself she is a bit more energetic. Snowdrop is about a year old and is pretty calm and snuggly. They both enjoy romping around and going in their different hidey houses and tunnels. They will sqeak with excitement when they see us because that usually means they are getting fresh fruits and veggies, which they LOVE! Their favorites are romaine lettuce, bell peppers, carrots and bananas. They're not a fan of green beans (but who can blame them!)

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a "Guinea Pig Application"   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms

Adoption fee is: $30 for a single guinea pig, $50 for a pair of guinea pigs

This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.

*Please note - due to COVID-19, we will not be able to do on-site meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the guinea pig's foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the guinea pig. You can pick your guinea pig up "curb side". Guinea pigs can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *

DPR guinea pigs receive a vet check up prior to adoption!

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
