Meet Courier! This big guy was rescued from a shelter in NC and is very lucky to be alive!! He had a urinary blockage and required hospitalization, but he is a fighter and recovered very quickly! The vet prescribed a urinary diet to prevent this from happening in the future. He also had a very bad case of ear mites, which have also been treated and resolved. He is feeling so much better now! And you would not believe what an absolute sweeetheart this boy is! He is SO affectionate and wants nothing more than to be pet and loved. He rubs up against your legs non-stop and head butts you with his gigantic head. Who can resist those big cheeks?! He is a couch potato, and loves lounging on his various cat beds. The vet estimated him to be around 2 years old. He loves is urinary diet and is a good eater. He is good with other cats and dogs. His urinary diet is not very expensive, and could be managed with other pets if they're fed separately, or with microchip feeders (or if they're on a urinary diet too!) We love Courier and we know you will too!

This cat is neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FIV and Leukemia and is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations.

If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit a "Cat Adoption Application"   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms
This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.

*Please note - we do not do in-person meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up "curb side". Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *

DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:

Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
