Meet Dunkin! They seriously do not come any friendlier and sweeter than little Dunkin'! His story starts out sad, but boy has his luck turned around! He was being kept in a garage in a tiny, dirty cage with minimal food. He was very underweight, sick and sneezing when a good samaritan offered to take him and help find him a better home. They reached out to us and we took him into our program. He's been steadily putting on weight, he's stopped sneezing, and he is visibly SO happy!! Every time he hears our voice he starts squeaking with excitement. He loves his fresh veggies and fruit and eagerly takes it right out of your hand. He is one of the few guinea pigs we have met who do not run away when you go to pick them up. He really loves being pet and cuddled. He is really wonderful with the young children at his foster home as well. We just can't say enough great things about Dunkin! He would probably enjoy having a guinea pig friend too - he's small, so maybe someone more his size would be a good match. He is an Abyssinian guinea and has cowlicks of hair all over, called "rosettes". We just love him and we know you will too!

Check out his cute video below!

All our guinea pigs see the vet for a wellness visit and nail trim prior to adoption.

Guinea pigs have wonderful personalities- they are gentle and we have yet to come across any who bite, and they keep a daytime schedule! They form close bonds with their people, similar to cats and dogs. Did you know they are able to recognize people based on scent, sound and sight?! These sweet animals make wonderful pets!

This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.

*Please note - we do not do on-site meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the guinea pig's foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the guinea pig. You can pick your guinea pig up "curb side". Guinea pigs can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *

DPR guinea pigs receive a vet check up prior to adoption!

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
