Becky is a one of a kind dog- a bulldog/corgi mix, possibly with some Akita.  She has the sable and white coloring of a corgi, the strong sturdy build and head of a bulldog, and the thick coat of an Akita. Whatever she is, she has unique looks and a sweet personality. Becky would be a GREAT family dog, as she is very friendly to people, loves kids, and has a calm and laid back manner. She's definitely a companion dog and will follow us around and lay by our feet, and loves being petted, but she isn't pushy about asking for attention.  She loves stuffed animals, chew bones, and balls and likes cats, although they don't enjoy her attempts to lick and nuzzle them as if they were puppies.

Although Becky likes other dogs, she is highly dominant with them, so she should be an only dog, or only with a very submissive companion.   She is not actively agressive, but all dog interactions must be on her terms. Just to be clear, she is NOT dominant with people, just with other dogs. She will let us check her ears, and teeth, brush her, roll her over to look at her spay incision, lift her into the car, etc, and we can take food or toys from her with no problem.

Becky has been waiting for her forever home since February!! Yes, she's a big strong girl but she's loving, sweet, and gentle with people, even little kids, and is great with cats.  Yes, she insists on being the alpha dog, but she really doesn't want to hurt other dogs, just teach them that she's the boss.   She's been here so long - are you the one she's waiting for?
