Meet Merriam! Merriam is one of seven kittens that were delivered by a Mama cat that was brought to DPR from a gas station in South Carolina. This litter of kittens were born on June 19 and have been carefully cared for since birth by their own Mama and foster family. Merriam is one of only two boys born in the litter and he is almost identical to his sister, Millie! He has both a curious and calm energy. He enjoys playing, but is often found snuggling with his siblings or laying in a cozy spot. He has been exposed to and is comfortable with humans of all ages, dogs and adult cats that are not his Mama! Merriam will be ready to go home in about a week or so when he is 8 weeks old. He will make a wonderful addition to your home!
These kittens will need to be spayed/neutered when they are big enough.
They are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations.
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a "Cat Adoption Application" at www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms

This website is updated daily. If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.
*Please note - we do not do in-person meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up "curb side". Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *
DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:
Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
