Tootsie was dropped off to a VA shelter along with her 7 newborns. Since the shelters can't keep newborn pups we had them transported up to us where Tootsie took wonderful care of her babies. They all now have homes of their own and it's time for Tootsie to have a family of her very own. We don't know her history but at first Tootsie is a bit shy but her tail never stops wagging. You will than notice that her body soon follows the wagging and she is just swinging back and forth with anticipation. Once she does meet you she loves to sit by your side and watch the world go by and from time to time she will offer her paw as gently as can be as a reminder that she is there by your side. We suspect Tootsie had some abuse in her past so we are looking for a family that will take the time for her to show her that life does not have to be scary. There is no doubt that Tootsie will become your best friend and be one of those special ones in a lifetime. Tootsie is up to date on shots and will be spayed once she is medically allowed (typically 10 weeks after having pups). Though she gets along with other dogs, she does not interact with them and is much more a people dog. If you are interested in meeting Tootsie, please submit an adoption application.
