7/19/12:  Is back home and so happy to be back in her foster mom's arms. She still has a long recovery ahead. She needs to be kept as quiet as possible for the next 4 weeks. She does tire out very easily which is expected.

Though we seem to be out of the woods we still need thoughts and prayers her way. Once she is recovered she will be 100% - just need to be patient and give her the time needed.

7/18/12:  Mia made it through her surgery.  Her heart failure was further advanced than expected but Dr. Jankowski did a wonderful job.  We had originally expected to bring her home today but because of her advanced condition she is still being monitored around the clock Veterinary Specialty until they are confident she will have a full recovery.  We thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and ask you to continue to send them until they clear her to go home back to her foster to recover.

7/13/12:  Mia is scheduled for her heart surgery at Delaware Veterinary Specialty July 17th.  Though due to her size and age it is a high risk surgery Mia is starting to show signs of heart failure so we need to proceed with the surgery now.  Dr. Art Jankowski will be performing the surgery so we know she is in the best of hands.  We will be updating all of you on her progress after surgery is completed.

6/13/12:  At our routine vet exam for Mia, she was diagnosed with a heart defect called a PDA.  This is a condition which can be corrected with surgery.  She had  an x-ray and blood work at Limestone Veterinary Hopsital and went  to Veterinary Specialty of Delaware and was seen by a cardiologist.  Surgery is scheduled.  Though our little girl only weighs 2 pounds we will do all we can to get her through.  Further updates will be posted.

My name is Mia and I am a little bundle of love and kisses.    If you are interested in meeting Mia, please put in an application.
