9/3/13 Update:  Suzy has stolen her foster mom's heart.  This girl, after being through so much by being dumped into a shelter while pregnant is now raising a second litter who needed some additional "Mom time".  She willing took on a litter of pups after her's had been adopted out and has cared and nurtured them.  Suzy may just be a plain brown mix mutt but she has lots of personality; loves people and has an adorable over-bite that we find to be endearing.  She is scheduled to be spayed this month and deserves a family who she will take care of and who will take care of her.  If you are interested in meeting Suzy please submit an application at www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org/forms

Suzy was rescued from a GA shelter where she was turned in by her owners when she was two weeks away from giving birth.  Thankfully we had room for her but she gave birth right before transport.  We needed to get her and the newborns out of the shelter ASAP and were lucky enough to find a paid transport that agreed to bring them up to us. 
At first Suzy was a very protective mom and wouldn't let anyone near her or them.  Who can blame her with all that she went through but she very quickly became best buddies with her foster mom and all who came to visit her.  Suzy is about 1.5 years old and her heritage is up for grabs.  If you took a picture of just her head you would say she's a Dashund but when you see the rest of her body, she has a larger build, a lab like tail - we're just calling her an all American Dog.  Suzy is house trained, up to date on shots and does well with other dogs.  She is very quiet overall but will bark to let you know if something is going on outside.  She is friendly to everyone she meets and very happy to take any treats offered.  Because she gave birth at the end of May she is not able to be altered until the end of August.  If you are interested in learning more about Suzy or interested in meeting her please submit an application at www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org/forms.  Adoption donation $125.00 plus refundable $50.00 altering deposit.
