Meet our beautiful girl Stella. She is a rescue from a VA shelter where she was found as a stray, only a few weeks away from giving birth. No one ever claimed her which wasn't a surprise in that area. DPR was contacted by the Rockbridge shelter in desperate need to have her rescued. She was a shelter favorite and there was no hope of her getting out locally. Thankfully we had room and she has been a treasure since arriving. On November 8th she gave birth to 10 puppies. She was a wonderful Mother to all of them despite the overwhelming number of mouths to feed. Now that her job of raising them is done we are looking for a home where she will finally have a family that will care for her as much as she will care for them. Stella is a very sweet, loving dog just waiting for people of her own. She is housetrained, learning how to walk on a leash, up to date on vaccinations and is a great friend. She is in a house without cats so we're not sure how she would do with them but we'll test her out with them. She is good with other dogs but is much more a people person dog. Because she gave birth in November she cannot be spayed until late January.
