My name is Robert and I spoke with you this Saturday about trying to find a home for the rescue dog we inherited a few weeks ago. Her story started with her past owner going to one of Rhonda's, the owner of Vixen Hall, friends veterinary clinic and asking her to put Lucy to sleep. He had three other dogs and Lucy had become food aggressive was his reasoning. Obviously this is no reason to euthanize an animal so the vet called Rhonda and asked her if she had a spot to save her. We took her in here at Vixen Hall and were starting to wonder what he was talking about. She had shown no signs of food aggression with us, was friendly with the dogs, she was next to, and was genuinely a happy dog. My girlfriend at the time had said she would be interested in taking Lucy as she has been looking for a dog of her own recently. We tried her out with my pit bull/boxer mix on several occasions and they were getting along fine. We decided that it was time to try her out at my house. They got along great all afternoon, playing, sharing toys, drinking from the same water bowl, not getting jealous while they both begged for my hamburger. Everything was going great....until Lucy decided to be dominant while my dog, Buddha, was laying on the grass. She mounted him and began to bite his ears. After that incident we obviously brought Lucy back to the kennel where she resumed her normal habits. She's a wonderful dog around people. Shows no signs of food aggression with you, is very very clean in her run or room, and has started to become playful. She is three years old, up to date on her vaccinations, and his spayed. We hope you get interest in her because she is a great dog just needs to be an only dog.
