This is a courtesy posting to help us find Holly her forever home. She is in safe hands but we need to find her a home that has time for her. She's a great girl! She would make a great family pet or an excellent companion. If you are interested in being considered for Holly please submit an application at www.DelawarePuppyRrescue.org/forms. My name is Stefanie Levendis, and in May of this year, I took over care for a beautiful puppy named Holly. Due to a major change at home, I am regretfully unable to continue caring for her. My mother had a debilitating stroke, so now I have become both my mother and Holly's sole caregiver in an instant. Due to this new home arrangement, I fear that Holly will be left alone more often then I'd like, as my mother is no longer physically able to help me by caring for Holly while I am away from home. At this time, with all of the attention being shifted to my mother, plus the absence of a second caregiver, I feel that it will be in Holly's best interest to live with a family who will be able to spend much more time with her, giving her the attention and constant love and contact that she truly deserves (especially now while, she is still a puppy). Here are some important facts that everyone should know about Holly: -Received her rabies shot and was spayed on June 8, 2015 -Extremely loving, and loves to snuggle -Enjoys playing and being active inside and outside of the house. -Very kind and sweet disposition -Lots of personality, incredibly smart and very eager to learn (she learned to sit, shake and lay down very quickly!) -Between 25-30lbs, perfect size -Very Loyal to owner(s) and loves to meet new people (is especially drawn to men-will try to nuzzle a man, if given the chance.) -Softest coat I've ever felt -Enjoys the company of other dogs, and has tried to make friends with cats-but all cats she has come in contact with have ran away. I cannot say for sure about her relationship with cats because she hasn't been exposed to any. However, I have only seen kind behavior and pure interest come from her when she spots a cat from a window. -Housebroken (but may need help in a new environment). -Does not LOVE going in her crate, but once she is in, she behaves well for extended periods of time. When I leave for work or go to the store, she will be in the crate, and behaves well while I am gone (does not bark incessantly-may let out a little whine at first, but settles in nicely). I cannot stress enough that this loving, gorgeous, and impressively smart dog is absolutely fabulous, and is in NO WAY leaving us because of any negative reason regarding her actions or personality... I just believe that our current home atmosphere is no longer the best environment for, and is unfair to her, and what I am most concerned with is that she live an exceedingly happy, playful and fulfilling life with a family who will give her the care and attention she deserves. In closing, I must stress that this decision was incredibly hard to make, and as the days go by, the very idea of her leaving feels more and more impossible. I sincerely want to help out in absolutely any way that I can to make sure Holly is very well looked after. More about HollyGood with Dogs, Good with Cats
