I am looking to re-home/surrender my cat Clawdia. I adopted her about a year ago, and in that time she and my dogs have decided that they don’t like each other. She thinks they are scary now, and they think she is prey.  In result of this, Clawdia has become rather depressed and isolates herself quite a lot. She’s not grooming herself, she hides in little nooks and crannies in the house, and she has a horrible habit of not drinking much water, to the point where I have to give her water in her food which thankfully she still eats pretty well. Otherwise she gets severely dehydrated. She also had a bout of vestibular syndrome back in December of ’21 that she has recovered from for the most part, with the exception of a bit of a head tilt that has not gone away. She gets around pretty well otherwise, when she does move around and isn’t hiding in a corner, under a bed, or hiding in her litter box area.

She is estimated to be around 10+ years old, she has no teeth (she had none when I got her), she will sometimes eat with a front foot by scooping her food into her mouth; which is adorable but the lack of grooming makes her a bit of a mess sometimes that I clean up with a wet washrag. She HATES that, but I can get her sort of clean that way. She is the best cuddler and couch buddy and would do amazing in a cat household, or maybe an old SMALL dog. Not two big ones like I have. My biggest fear is her making herself sick and shutting down, or retreating so far into herself that she loses her sweetness, and her overall personality. I had hoped that my home would be her last, and it is killing me to even write this email; but I have tried to make this work and it just isn’t. I feel it is in her best interest if I find her another home that she can live out her days in peace and without fear of the big scary dogs.
